Dr Rolleston reported that ' the Executors would have no objection to permit the recipient of the Medal to choose between a gold medal and a bronze medal, with the difference in money. '
Secretary reported that the Fund balance is £185 - 11 - 5
Letter read from Mr Bruce to Professor Stokes of 24 December 1874 stating ' that the price for a medallion about threefoutrths life size, is twenty guineas, with a slight addition in case of extra work being required for the reverse. '
Resolved; 1. That Mr Bruce Joy be employed to execute a medallion of Sir H Davy 2. That Mr De La Rue be requested to consult the Deputy Master of the Mint as to whether the dies can be deposited at the Mint, and the Medal struck there. |
