1. Read and signed minutes of previous meeting

2. After discussion of a letter from the Ministry of Munitions on the provision of skilled chemists for war work, it was agreed that ;
2.1 In connexion with paragraph B of this letter, to refer the cases of James Downing and F A Hatch to the Ministry of Munitions, with full details, and to express the hope that they will support the Royal Society's recommendation concerning the exemption of these two men
2.2 To inform the Ministry of Munitions that in dealing with applications the Royal Society have always scrutinesed very closely the cases of the younger men; and to furnish a statement of the propostion of the men under 23 years of age who have received recommendations from the Society.'

3. Considered and made decisions on the cases of Frederick Challenge, Otto Oberlander, W E Rowbottom, A B Wilson
