DescriptionThe Committee was set up in 2011 and was originally known as STEM DC (STEM Disability Committee). The Committee changed their name in 2015 to become STEMM Disability Advisory Committee.

As of 2016, the core members are: BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT; Campaign for Science and Engineering; General Medical Council; Institute of Physics; Royal Academy of Engineering; Royal Society; Royal Society of Chemistry; Science Council; Royal Society of Biology; Wellcome Trust

The members aim to: speak on the inclusion of disabled people in STEMM education and employment; bring collective action and a strategic approach to strengthening the inclusion of disabled people in STEMM; influence policy development on STEMM disability issues; use evidence and expertise to influence government and other leading decision makers.
