DescriptionDescribes a tour through the Bugungu country along the Nile to Buruli. Gives the purpose of the tour -- to discover the distribution of sleeping sickness and the tsetse fly, and how the spread of disease could be prevented. Describes encounters at various villages, lists deaths from sleeping sickness and the frequency of the tsetse fly based on the natives' reports. Reports difficulties as many chiefs deny that there are cases of sickness -- also the belief that those sent to hospital 'will be killed and eaten by the Medical Officer in charge'.
