DescriptionCommittee appointed by Council in 1899 following receipt of a letter from the Secretary of State for India dated 28 March 1899 ; a Standing Committee with Sir Richard Strachey Chairman, Mr W T Blanford, Mr H T Brown, Sir William Thiselton-Dyer and Professor Marshall Ward. Subsequent letter of 9 October 1902 from the Secretary of State for India requested continuance of the Committee, which Council resolved 'That the Secretary of State be informed tht the appointment of the Indian Government Advisory Committee will be continued.'
