Committee apponted by resolution of Council at a meeting of 6 March 1947, in which the terms of reference were listed as (a) a committee, to be called the Travelling Expenses Committee, be set up to consider applications that may be referred to it be Council and that this Committee make recommendations to Council twice a year, namely in January and April, on applications received by 31 Decembre and 31 March respectively; (b) the Committee consist of the Foreign Secretary as Chairman, and the other members fo the International Relations Committee, together with the Chairman of the Sectional Committees and the Agricultural Science Sommittee; (c) that priority be given to assisting those who have been invited for a specific purpose by a National Academy or other scientific institution of high standing.
