Commencing with a list of Council members present: Francis Baily; Marc Isambard Brunel; John George Children; Samuel Hunter Christie; William Clift; Benjamin Gompertz; Joseph Henry Green; John William Lubbock; William George Maton; William Hasledine Pepys; Peter Mark Roget; Reverend Richard Sheepshanks; the President, His Royal Highness [Prince Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex] in the chair.

Among matters discussed or noted: the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Mr. Balliere's bill for books, £49 16s., to be paid. £100 to be given to Anthony Panizzi for his services in preparing a Library catalogue. Report by George Biddell Airy on Barlow's telescope deferred until Sir John Hershel's report was received. Secretaries authorised to give copies of Proceedings as they see fit. Removal from Statute V of the words 'for elections' balloted and confirmed. Letter from Sir Herbert Taylor, St. James's Palace, 20 June 1833, to the Duke of Sussex, full text entered into the minutes: forwarding letters from M. Demonville on a discovery of latitude. Mr Baily and Mr. Sheepshanks to report as a committee on Taylor's letter.
