DescriptionPrinted minutes containing matters laid before Council, the Royal Society's governing body of Fellows, with records of decisions taken.

Commencing with a list of Council members present: Sir William Burnett; Samuel Hunter Christie; Thomas Galloway; Reverend George Peacock, Dean of Ely; George Rennie; Peter Mark Roget; Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Sabine; Dr. William Sharpey; Charles Wheatstone; the President, Spencer Joshua Alwyn Compton, 2nd Marquess of Northampton, in the chair.

Among matters discussed or noted: minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Michael Faraday applied for 50 copies of his paper on 'Experimental Researches' in addition to the 50 now allowed to each author, granted. Resolved that an issue of Philosophical Transactions containing the last three papers of Mr. Faraday to be published forthwith. Read a letter from Mr. Weld respecting the Library. List of bills for printing and binding. Mr. Christie gave notice of a resolution he intended to propose at the next meeting relating to the award of the Royal Medals, full text entered into the minutes.
