Commencing with a list of Council members present: Charles Frederick Barnwell; John George Children; Michael Faraday; Dr, Henry Holland; Reverend Dr. Philip Jennings; Charles Konig; Charles Lyell; Herbert Mayo; Roderick Impey Murchison; Peter Mark Roget; Dr. Edward Turner; Reverend William Whewell; the Vice President, William Thomas Brande, in the chair.

Among matters discussed or noted: minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Report from the Medal Committee for Chemistry recommending the award of one of the Royal Medals to Michael Faraday for his Experimental results in Electricity, especially the seventh series. One of the Royal Medals for 1838 to be awarded to the most important unpublished paper in chemistry. The Copley Medal to be awarded to William Snow Harris for his Experimental Investigations of the forces of Electricity of High Intensity, 1834. Letter from John William Lubbock, 29 Eaton Place, 12 November 1835, to Peter Mark Roget, full text entered into the minutes: noting the disadvantages of the President's non-attendance at meetings and offering his resignation as Treasurer, accepted with regret. List of wages and salaries paid to Officers and Staff of the Royal Society. List of bills ordered to be paid, for publishing, engraving and others expenses. Letter from J. W. Glover requesting the two volumes of indexing to the Philosophical Transactions, for His Majesty's Library at Windsor, granted.
