John Cornforth in effect acted as secretary for this fund, and the file includes two folders of 'transactions completed', records of who had contributed to the fund. The correspondence covers letters about subscription to the fund, choice of artist and distribution of reprints of Cornforth's Notes and Records article on the portrait. The file includes a reprint of that article and ends in 1994 with coies of Dorothy Hodgkin's obituary notice.
