Citation | Father Joannes Crivelli Regular Priest of the Order of the Sommaschi in Venice In a Letter dated at Venice Octr 1 1733 from Martin Folkes Esqr VPRS this Father is recommended to be a Member of the Royal Society, As being the Person who hath Introduced Natural and Philosophical Learning among the Persons of Distinction at Venice as here is not one that hath any Tast that Way but have been his Scholars, and as Such I think, a distinction the Society Shall please to give him by chusing him Fellow, will be of Service to the Society it Self, as it will promote the dignity of the Sciences themselves, whilst it confers an honour on the Person of one of the Proffessors of them: He has given me as a present to the Society, a book he has publish'd being Principles of Physicks chiefly on Sr Isaac Newtons Principles, for the use of the Studious here, in Italian in 2 Volumes 4to.
