A gentleman of great Learning, and well versed in Several Branches of natural Knowledge, having for Several years travelled thro' many parts of Italy and the Coasts of Barbary, making observations as he pass'd: being very desirous of being Elected a Member of the Royal Society; we the underwritten do recommend him as one highly deserving that honor and very likely to become an useful member thereof
