Main work the simplification and generalisation of the theory of lenses, the evaluation of the Hamiltonian coefficients of aberration for lenses with surfaces of arbitrary form, the construction of general solutions of the aberrational quations, and the methods of testing optical instruments. Author of about 80 original scientific papers.
