TitleBell, Ronald Percy: certificate of election to the Royal Society
DescriptionDate stamp on reverse
CitationDistinguished for his work in chemical kinetics and the application of quantum mechanics to chemistry. His investigations have increased our knowledge of the phenomena of acid - base catalysis, especially in non-aqueous solvents; of the nature of solutions generally, and of the hydrogen - deuterium exchange phenomenon. Has investigated theoretically the conditions under which the quantum mechanical 'tunnel' effect should become apparent in chemical reactions.
