This Nobleman, well known in the Republic of Letters by his great Love for usefull and polite Learning, by his considerable Collection of Curiosities Natural and Artificial, of Antiquities, Medals &c; and in particular by his Learned Dissertation upon the Usefullness of the Silk of Spiders, Sent to the Royal Society in 1710 & printed in No 325 of the Philosophical Transactions, and by his Invention of the Montpellier Drops Chymically Extracted from Spiders Bags; is very desirous of being a Fellow of this Society; & is accordingly recommended as a Person likely to become a very usefull Member & Correspondent, by us
