Being desirous of being proposed a Candidate for election into the Royal Society: we whose names are underwritten do accordingly propose him, and upon our own knowledge recommend him as a Gentleman of merit and learning, well versed in Mathematical and Philosophical knowledge, and every way worthy of the Honour he desires, and likely to be an usefull and Valuable member of a Society founded for the improvement of Natural and Experimental Philosophy.
