CitationMr John Dollond, of the Strand, Optician to his Majesty, well known by the several papers he has given in to the R Society, and particularly one, of a new Instrument for measuring small Angles, and another, of an Object Glass, consisting of two Spherical Lenses of different densities, so contrived, as to correct the Errors arriving from the different refrangibility of the Rays of Light, being desirous of the honour of becoming a Fellow of this Society, We, whose names are hereunto subscribed, recommend him, from our personal knowledge of him and his Abilities, as a person well deserving of that honour, and very likely to prove an useful Member of this Society
