TitleHey, William: certificate of election to the Royal Society
CitationMr William Hey, Surgeon in Leeds, desiring to be admitted a member of the Royal Society, we whose names are here subscribed do, from our personal knowledge of him, recommend him as a proper candidate for that [honour]. A paper of Mr Hey's, which may be seen [in the] appendix to those of J Priestley on different [kinds of] air, which is published in the [67th] volume of the Philosophical Transactions, may [give] some idea of his taste and skill in philosophical matters; and several of his papers in the Medical Inquiries and Observations are a proof of the attention which he has given to what is most scientifical in his profession
