CitationAppointed by the Admiralty to superintend the armament fillings of the several "great mail companies steam vessels" and lately the Pivoting the Heavy Armament of steamers in the Royl Navy. Has been employed in conducting several scientic experiments in the Construction of mortar vessels & Boats, and several useful plans introduced into the Service. Also new carriages and slides in the Navy, and the introduction of steamers Bullwarks now severally adopted. The Inventor or Improver of several improvements in Civil Engineering. Distinguished for his acquaintance with the science of Mechanical Philosophy and as one who is much attached to science and anxious to promote its progress
