CitationThe author, under the Superintendence of the late Genl Colby of 'The Account of the Measurement of a Base Line on the Banks of Lough Foyle,' - The calculations having been conducted under his own especial care; he also much improved the system of calculation adopted on the Survey, and was the active manager of the scientific operations of the Survey for several years - He is the Author also of the able article 'Geodesy' prepared for the use of The Royal Military Academy, and is Eminent as a Mathematician, more particularly as regards Geodetic Science.
