Consulting Physician to St Thomas's Hospital, and formerly Lecturer on Materia Medica and the Practice of Medicine in St Thomas's Medical School. Has filled the offices in the Ro Coll of Physicians of Senior Censor, Lumleyan and Croonian Lecturer, and Examiner in Medicine; and is at present the Representative of the College in the General Medical Council. Member and formerly Vice-President of the Pathological Society. Secretary, and one of the Founders of the first Sydenham Society. A Manager of the London Institution. Author of a Treatise on Acute Hydrocephalus, for which he received the Fothergillian Gold Medal; of Croonian Lectures on Cancerous and other Intra-thoracic Growths, delivered before the College of Physicians, and of Papers on Medical subjects contributed to various Medical Journals. Eminent as a Physician and as a Public Teacher of Medicine.
