CitationAuthor of Papers & Treatises on "Limes & Cements" printed in the Corps Papers of the Royal Engineers (vol ix,) and other publications; of a Paper "on the Representation of Ground" in Corps Papers of Rl Engineers (vol x) describing a new system which is now adopted in the Army for Military Sketching. Of a Paper on the agricultural value of Lime Compounds prepared from Sewage Precipitates read before the British Association in 1872. Of a Paper on the construction of the Rl Albert Hall read before the Institute of British Architects.
Has effected important improvements in the application of limes to Building purposes by discovery of new methods for their ready conversion into Cements. Has also materially improved the construction of pottery ovens whence great economy in the consumption of fuel has resulted. Has been the architect of two important Buildings viz the Royal Albert Hall & the Schools of Science at South Kensington.
