Promoter of a permanent Meteorological and Magnetical Observatory in Mauritius and of branch observatories in the Seychelles, Rodrigues, and Madagascar. Author of Contributions to the Meteorology and Hydrography of the Indian Ocean: Daily Synoptic weather charts of the Indian Ocean: on the Meteorology of Port Louis: Rainfall of Mauritius: on the Gales and Hurricanes of the Southern Indian Ocean: Origin of Cyclones: Storm-warning in Mauritius: Periodicity of Cyclones. Periodicity of rainfall connected with Sun-spot periodicity. Temperature in connexion with Sun-spot periods. Form of Cyclones in the South Indian Ocean, &c.
