CitationAuthor of a Paper "On a New Manufacturing Process for the Perpetual Regeneration of the oxide of Manganese used for the Liberation of Chlorine from Hydrochloric" (British Ass Reps 1869) This process has completely revolutionized the manufacture of chlorine, and has thus been the means of the economical production of all chlorine products, and has materially benefited every Industrial Process in which this substances is employed. This New Method of Regenerating the Manganese used in the Chlorine Industry has been of great importance in preventing the pollution of streams and of the atmosphere. For this discovery Mr Weldon received the "Lavoisier Medal" and other honours. Author of Paper "On a Relation between the Atomic Volumes of Certain Elements and the Heats of Formation of some of their Compounds" (Chemical News Vol 44) and other Papers in the Proceedings of the British Association
