Has published the following, amongst other, papers: - 'Contributions to the Anatomy of the Indian Elephant' (Journal of Anatomy, 1871, 1872, 1873); 'On the Mechanism of Perching in Birds' (Journal of Anatomy, 1869); 'The Homology of the Sexual Organs illustrated by Comparative Anatomy & Pathology' (Journal of Anatomy, 1879); 'On the Anatomy of the Female Organs of the Proboscidea' (Trans Zool Soc, 1881); On the Anatomy of the Female Organs of the Proboscidea' (Trans Zool Soc Lond 1881); 'On the Female Organs and Placentation of the Racoon, Procyon Lotor (Proceed Royal Society 1881). Is at present engaged in the completion of a Monograph on the Anatomy of the Spheniscidoe, obtained during the voyage of HMS Challenger, which is to be published in the official reports of that expedition.
