Has been an Examiner in the Natural Science Tripos in the University of Cambridge, in the Honours School of Natural Science in the University of Oxford, and in Physiology in the University of London (1878-82). Was for some time Hon Sec of the Medical Research Association.
Joint translator of Hebra on Skin Diseases (1869). Author of the following:

Reports of abnormatities (3 papers) Guy's Hospital Reports: Note on the Musculus Iternalis, Virchow Archiv: Left-handedness (pamphlet) 1872: Three Reports on Intestinal Secretion & Movement (jointly with Dr Lauder Brunton), British Assn Reports: Address to the Department of Anatomy & Physiology, British Association 1879: Stomatitis haemorrhagica, Virchow's Archiv 1870: Morbus Addisonii, Virchow's Archiv 1875: Article 'Harvey' Encyclopedia Brittanica [sic] 1881; and many other papers in Medical Journals & Transactions of Learned Societies.
