| Citation | Professor of Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics. Dean of the Faculty of Applied science, McGill University. Has greatly extended the progress of physical, and especially engineering science in Canada by his research work in the testing and hydraulic laboratories installed under his direction, for which much of the apparatus has been designed by himself; and by his advice and direction in the equipment of the Physical and other Laboratories of the McGill University.
