Citation | Strathcona Professor of Pathology, McGill University, Montreal. Director of the Pathological Laboratories, Royal Victoria Hospital. Distinguished as an experimental pathologist and teacher. His work may be classified as follows: - 1. Studies with Prof Roy on Heart Strain, on the Papillary Muscles, and on the Heart Beat; and , with the same author, the important work on the Physiology and Pathology of the Mammalian Heart (Phil Trans, 1892). 2. In General Pathology, a series of contributions on the Relation of Inflammation to Febrosis; on Growth and Overgrowth; on Theories of Inheritance; on the Classification of Tumours, &c. 3. In Special Pathology, many articles in English, Canadian, and American Journals. Among the most important may be mentioned the Studies in Tuberculosis in Cattle, and on the Picton Cattle Disease, made for the Canadian Government. Prof Adami holds a distinguished position among English-speaking Pathologists. His work in Canada has been of the greatest importance in stimulating the study of Pathology, and in organising the Laboratories at McGill University, and at the Royal Victoria Hospital. |
