CitationEx-Editor of the Journal of the Chemical Society. Professor of Chemistry in the Royal College of science for Ireland, Dublin. Distinguished for his knowledge of Chemistry and for his researches in organic chemistry, embodied in numerous papers on Azo and Diazo Compounds, on Aromatic Bases, and on Organic Derivatives of Metals and Metalloids. Parts I, II, III' (ibid, 1909-1910); 'The Constitution of the Ortho-Diazo-Imines. Parts I, II, III' (ibid, 1910-1913); 'The Production of Para-Diazoimides from Alkyl and Aryl Sulphonyl 'p'-Diamines, a General Reaction' (ibid, 1910); 'Amino Derivatives of Aryl Sulphonanilides and Aryl Sulphon beta-Napththalides' (ibid, 1912); 'Non-Aromatic Diazonium Salts. Parts I and II' (ibid, 1913); 'Action of Formaldehyde on Amines of the Napthalene Series. Parts I and II' (ibid, 1898-1900); 'Influence of Substitution on the Reactivity of the Aromatic 'm'-Diamines' (ibid, 1902); 'Aminocoumarin' (ibid,1904); 'The Residual Affinity of Coumarin shown by the Formation of Oxonium Salts' (ibid, 1906); 'The Absorption Spectra of the Nitration Products of Dimethyl 'p'-Toluidine' (ibid, 1911); 'The Absorption Spectra of Aromatic Nitroamines and Nitroamides' (ibid, 1912); 'Co-ordination Compounds of Vanadium. Part I' (ibid, 1913). About 35 other papers are distributed through the Journals of the Chemical Society, the Society of Chemical Industry, the Society of Dyers and Colourists, and the Reports of the International Congress of Applied Chemistry, etc.
