CitationAssistant-Director of the Royal Gardens, Kew. Formerly Fellow and Dean of King's College, Cambridge, and University Lecturer in Botany. Distinguished as a botanist by his researches on protoplasmic continuity in plants, and on various problems of systematic and economic botany. Has travelled in South America, Algeria, and the West Indies [Caribbean] for purposes of botanical investigation.
