TitleSugden, Samuel: certificate of election to the Royal Society
CitationDistinguished as a Physical Chemist. His chief work has been the correlation of Surface Tension and chemical constitution. He has published 37 papers, chiefly in the Journal of the Chemical Society, 12 of which deal with the Parachor. Others, such as two on the determination of surface tension from the maximum pressure in bubbles, are of considerable importance. His work on magnetism and valency should also be mentioned.
