TitleForster-Cooper, Sir; Clive: certificate of election to the Royal Society
CitationHis great collections from Baluchistan made known to us the remarkable animal Baluchitherium, and provided materials of Anthracotheres, Elephants and Rhinoceroses which have enabled him to discuss critically the principles which underlie the discrimination of species and larger groups amongst fossil mammals, and hence to examine the basis on which all evolutionary studies of these animals rest. He is the centre of an active group of young palaeontologists, his own students, who are working on all groups of fossil vertebrates.
