DescriptionDate stamp on reverse
CitationDistinguished for his researches in Aerodynamics. Since his first work on the Pitot tube in which he showed that the Pitot pressure differs from its theoretical value by less than 1 part in 1000 Relf has been associated with almost every advance in the technical side of aerodynamics in this country. As Superintendent of the Aerodynamics Department at the National Physical Laboratory much of his time has been devoted to superintending the work of others, but recently he has designed and brought into successful operation the apparatus which enables an observer situated outside the new compressed air tunnel to operate the balances inside it.
