CitationDistinguished as a pure mathematician, particularly for his researches in the theory of integral functions. The theory of asymptotic periods, flat regions and basic polynomials are due mainly to him, and he has inspired many others to fruitful work by his suggestions. Author of "Interpolatory function theory" (Cambridge 1935) and of papers in the publications of the London Mathematical Society and elsewhere.
