TitleIng, Harry Raymond: certificate of election to the Royal Society
CitationDr Ing has made a special study of the chemical aspects of drug action, and his original work is closely related to pharmacology; for example, his studies on alkaloids, which led to the accepted structures of cytosine, anagyrine, sparteine and lupanine; the isolation of histamine from rabbit blood; studies on the curariform action of onium salts, on local anaesthetics and on synthetic substitutes for atropine, all of which attempt a closer analysis of the relations between structure and action in these groups of drugs.
