CitationDr. C.E.H. Bawn is professor of physical and inorganic chemistry at Liverpool University. He has carried out researches on adsorption, gaseous explosions, explosives and high polymers. His main filed of research has been on chemical kinetics, especially of the hydro-carbon free radicals. During the war he was principal scientific officer in the Armament Research Department, and carried out much research on explosives, especially on the kinetics of their decomposition. He has published a text-book: Chemistry of High Polymers.
