TitleWhite, Errol Ivor: certificate of election to the Royal Society
CitationDistinguished for his researches in fossil fishes. His numerous publications have ranged over a wide field, but most outstanding are several papers dealing with the Red Sandstone fishes and the bearing of their study on correlation. He discovered and described (Phil. Trans. 1935) the first known complete speciment of Pteraspis [underlined], and discovered the classification and interpretation of the Ostracoderms in the light of his new information. Among other noteworthy monographs are those dealing with Eocene fished from England and Nigeria, and with Australian Arthrodires. A list of publications is attached.
