He has made valuable contributions to the theory of multivariate distribution and selection, autocorrelation of time series, probability chains and more general stochastic processes relating to physics and biology. He is the author of a treatise on stochastic processes which has fostered in Britain interest and research in this subject. (List of 86 papers appended.)
