TitleMandelstam, Stanley: certificate of election to the Royal Society
DescriptionCertificate of Election
CitationDistinguished for his contributions to quantum field theory. He initiated and developed the treatment of scattering amplitudes as analytic functions of two variables and proposed the double dispersion relation which has come to dominate currents though about reactions between elementary particles. In collaboration with others he has contributed much to the application of these ideas, in particular to the mutual scattering of pi-mesons.
