He has made valuable contributions to the theory of liquid helium, and in particular has made a crucial prediction of the observed new phases of He3. In addition his papers cover many other aspects of the properties of He3 and of He4/He3 mixtures such as NMR, spin echoes, spin diffusion and the relation of liquid helium theory and superconductivity.
