| Citation | Professor Davies is an outstanding and prolific analyst who has made important contributions to many branches of mathematics and mathematical physics. In particular his study of Schrodinger operators, scattering theory and the dynamics of quantum systems is of central importance. More recently he has made deep contributions to the theory of the heat equation on general manifolds. All his work demonstrates analytical skill of the highest order. |
