He was desirede to informe the Society in Writing of the whole manner thereof; how, and in what Season the Spawn must be gathered, how managed, and in what Sort of fishes it hath been practised.
The Operator was commanded to provide some Fishes full of Spawne as Pearches, Flounders, Gudgeons, an to put them into a great Glasse of waterk to observe the Spawne when cast.
My Lord Brouncker undertook to put some Fishes by with Spawne, into his Cisterne at Whitehall, to observe also the Spawne.
Mr Henshaw mentioned, to have seen an Eele choaked with a water-Rat, the two hind legs thereof hanging at the Eele's mouth.
Mr Neile mentioned, to have seen an Eele in St James's Park, with a Duck in his mouth.
Mr Evelin gave some Account of the Experiment recom-mended to him, of putting up some Flesh and Bloud in a Vessel covered with Flannell, to see what Insects it would breed ; and said, that hitherto it had bred nothing. He was desired to continue and prosecute this Experiment.
Mr Hook made two Experiments ; One, of a Carpe included ina vessel of water, out of which the Air was exhausted : the other of extracting the air out of water ; which air, after some time will relapse into water again. He was ordered to bring in the Success of these Experiments in writing.
