Mr Hook shewed the Company two Microscopical Schemes; one representing the pores of Cork, cut both transverse and perpendicular; the other, a Kettering Stone, appearing to be composed of Globul's; and these hollow ones, each having 3 Coats, sticking to one another, and so making upone entire firme Stone.He was desired to observe the barks of other trees; and to write downe all what he observed about these and the like appearances: as also to bring in against next day, the representation of the little Fishes swimming in Vinegar.

Sir Robert Moray presented the Company with an Account of the dissection made of the Body of the Lord Belcarres, in whose heart were found 2 Stones, the paper was ordered to be registered. Occasion being given, to discourse of the Stars discovered by Dr Palmer, a minister; Sir Robert Moray moved, that a Survey might be made of the Stars of the Zodiack, by the best Telescopes for the discovering of New stares and the rectifying of the places of stares already knowne: for which purpose Sir Robert Moray offered himselfe to take his share: Mr Ball undertook the Survey of a whole Signe; Mr Hook of as much as he could.
Mr Boyle confirmed what was said in the precedent meeting about the volatin Spirit extended out of a Spunge, to be like to Spirits drawn out of Animal Substances. And it being demanded what difference he did observe, between Animal and vegetable Spirits; he said to have found, that the volatile Spirits of Animals, poured upon acid Spirits, caused an Effervescence, but those of vegetables did not.
He offered, in case he could get any sensitive plants to try, how their spirits differed from those of ordinary Plants: and the like tryall he would make with Mushrooms.
