Mr Paman FRS presented his Booi intitled The Harmony of the ancient and modern Geometry asserted and printed at London 1745 in quarto; For which thanks were ordered.
A Letter from Mr Lagard Surgeon to Doctor Mortimer dated Dean Street, Soho, December 3, 1745 was communicated with an account inclosed of an extraordinary case in Surgery relating to a fracture of the Os Ilium, and both were read.
It was an accident which happened in February last to a Servant of the Earl of Darnley , one about two and twenty Years of Age who getting up into a Waggon, whilst upon the wheel, happened to be jammed so forcibly by the Wheel of a Coal Cart going by, that it caused a Fracture in the left side of the Os Ilium, of near three fingers breadth, which being a very uncommon case in Surgery, he here describes the manner in which he applied his Bandage. to reduce and keep the fractured parts in contact together, by means of which they at length knit, and the Patient was so perfectly well cured, that at the end of a month he was very able to walk.

Mr Baker communicated from Mr Erkskin Baker his Son an account of certain Inscriptions found at a place in the ancient Colony called Industria. For which thanks were ordered.
Admiral Anson was put to the Ballot, ad elected Fellow as was also Mr Simpson who was elected Fellow.
Mr Collinson desired leae to borrow the use of Monsieur Reaumer's History fo Insects and Breynius's History of Fishes, which was accordingly granted, upon the usual Conditions of his Note. |
