TitleLaboratory notebooks kept by John Henry Gaddum
DescriptionLaboratory notebooks of J H Gaddum. 17 volumes from various periods of Gaddum's working career between 1922 and 1964. Most contain detailed data from experiments involving extractions of chemically active substances and testing of substances on animals, including Gaddum's research on substance P, acetylcholine, adrenaline and from 1953, experiments with 5-hydroxytryptamine. The wartime notebooks contain notes from research on chemical warfare conducted at Porton Down.
