Inscreibred in the hand of John Farey 'Engraved in miniature in Rees' Cyclopaedia, Volume 23, Art Mill, Mechanics, plate 34. N.B. This plan of sliding spur nuts had been used by Mr Smeaton in his earliest cornmills, viz. at Halcon in 1753 (see folio 54) and at Wakefield in 1754 (see folio 64). He mentioned it in 1786, see V.96'
