RelatedMaterialThe sketch referred to is reproduced in the Printed Reports, following page 222. Smeaton had been called in to adjudicate in a dispute between Mr Rich and Messrs Walton; the former complained that the erection by the latter of the dam of their oil mill had prejudiced the tail water of the former's corn mill. Smeaton in his reort dated 14 December 1765 (Printed Reports Volume I pages 239-244) decided in favour of Messrs Walton
