Description Concerning the quicksilver mines in Idria, Triuly, 'a territory belonging to the Venetians, about a dayes journey and a halfe from the Goritia northwards and by West, ...situated in a valley of the Julian Alpes. They have bin these 160 yeqares in the possession of the Emperour, and all the inhabitants speak Sclavonish.'

Also describes the 'contrivance of blowing the Fire in Brass-works of Tivoli near Rome (it being new to me) where the water blews the fire not be moving the bellows (which is commmon) but by affording the wind'.
