DescriptionTo commemorate the third centenary (1608 - 1908).
Obverse: Champlain, in doublet cloak and boots, head bare, holding a sword before him, steps from a ship onto a rock. On either side of him these emblems: left, a crown, H.IV, a dolphin, a scroll with the date 1608; right, a crown, E.VII, a dolphin, a scroll with the date 1908. Reverse: female figures symbolizing Britain and France beneath a tree, in whose branches are scrolls bearing inscriptions
