Columns for: date, readings of the barometer and thermometer at 8.00am, 12.00 noon, and 8.00pm, with the ship's position by latitude and longitude, and remarks on wind direction and weather.
The vessel reached Tenerife on 13 March 1837 [p.1] and is reported as standing in for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 14 April 1837 [p.2] standing out the next day. HMS Stag arrived at Valpairiso, Chile, staying 26 June-26 July 1837 [pp.3-4], then calling at Coquimbo, Chile, 30 July-2 August 1837 [p.4] and Callao, Peru, 24 August-5 September 1837 [p.5]. The vessel returned to Valpairiso, remaining at anchor 21 September 1837-22 May 1838 [pp.6-13], before the record concludes at Rio de Janeiro on 29 June 1838 [p.14].
